Great location, and relaxing atmosphere. It's a hike for me to get to Strand, but I won't go anywhere else. No one cuts and colors like Lee.
Strand Salon is the best. Randomly walked into Lee's shop 28 years ago and I haven't let anyone touch my hair or my nails since then. Lee & Julie ae warm and welcoming and great at what they do. I always leave there happy with the results.

I can't rave enough about Strand Salon and the people who work there. I have been getting my hair done here on and off for years. I always leave happy with everything I have done. I have very very thick curly hair so its not often I can find people who can cut/color it without any problems. Kassie Folstad has even fixed some hair cuts for me that have been butchered at other places. I highly recommend them
So happy I go to the award winning Strand Salon.I can’t imagine anyone else doing my hair and nails.If you want the best, go to the best.

Julie has been doing my hair for over 25 years. When I lived out of state I would wait until I could return to make an appointment with her. My mother, 2 aunts, and brother are all repeat customers of hers and we would be happy with no one else. I was happy when I moved back to the area so appointments would be more convenient. Julie is FANTASTIC and I will go no where else.
I love Strand Salon and everyone who works there! I moved from San Francisco a few years ago and spent 6 months trying to find someone who could cut and style my wavy layered hair. I color it too. Minnesota's hard water and humidity confused me and I needed expert help.
So I went to St. Paul, Uptown, Downtown and believed everyone who told me they could give me my beautiful hair back. Promises promises. Each cut was worse than the last. My hair was a hot mess and I had spent a small fortune.
I gave up and decided to focus on my nails. A nice woman (thank you friendly Minnesota people) in Target told me about Lee, the owner of Strand Salon. So I booked an appointment and yes, she is great at nails so I started seeing her regularly. I was letting my hair grow out and just kept it up and didn't talk about it. It was depressing but I couldn't afford any more bad cuts.
I finally got the courage to ask Lee if she'd take a look at my hair. I still remember the look on her face. She was honest. Everyone else had promised magic. She told me what was wrong with it and that it would take time to fix. I trusted her and it truly has been magic ever since.
My hair is beautiful again and I see her for blowouts now too.So I'm at Strand Salon all the time. It's very different from what I was used to. This is a neighborhood salon. Some of the stylist are older and have clients who have been with them for decades. Depending on what day I'm there it's a totally different crowd. I love the eclectic nature of the place and the kindness of all the stylists. It's a small salon and it feels like a family. And now I'm part of it.
The prices are great and the parking is free! Goodbye San Francisco, hello St. Louis Park and Strand Salon!
